July 4th I went to a roof top party for the fire works last night. I was really excited because it is always great to be on a roof and see 2-3 different fireworks going off during he night.
As the night progressed I started to see some of the partiers becoming more and more drunk. People started to take more risk by running around the roof and falling down. Each time one of them would go near and edge people would worry. Epically me.
When I worked in West Virgina as the Director of a raft companies Ropes Course. I saw (and held) a man as he died. He was a friend of one of the guides. A young man from Australia that traveled with this female guide. He was hanging out with some of the Kayak'ers that came to train for the next season of rodeos (kayaking that is).
The road we where based on was a small country road that saw traffic but only when we started in the morning and ended at night. It was late in the day and all our trip were over. We all were gathering in the lounge when we saw this young man get out of a Winnebago of the kayak'ers.
As he crossed the road a car hit him at 65 MPH. His body was bucked over the front and planted in the windshield. He was then launched and flipped seven time in the air. I still have nightmares of this.
I was one of four people to enter the scene. I took the head position and cradled this dying mans head in hands. He was gasping and his face was caved in. Bubbles were coming out of every opening. I don't know how long I was on the head. I do remember that someone (an EMT) replaced me. Then I walked around dumb founded and in shock.
I tell this story because last night the drunk ones where almost falling off the roof. I was so scared I would have to go through that again. I left before the big fireworks at the Diamond happened. I sat on my deck and watched it with a beer and all by myself.
We will be adding all the recipes from the 1 st season of "Chez Geek" our cooking show, but in the mean time I thought I would share some dabbling I do with cooking.
Ingredients
Hope you like and if you have a simple 5 or less ingredient recipe, send it our way and maybe just maybe we will showcase it this season on "Chez Geek".
Holed up in the editing room for way to long. Long enough to loose out on two dates and close to loosing a birthday (but not quite).
Lately I have been working on High Mainteance, episode 3. along with Error Report (spin off of 1337) and the 1st episode of season 2 of 1337!
My job has been stressful and the ONLY time feel happy is editing. It's the challenge to get something told in story. My one downfall is that I need to be more anal about my product, but that is starting to take action. I have been really wanting to make sure we put out things that are worth watching.
Check this out as testament to my new efforts....

So at work I was given a gift card to were I work. $150 sound like a lot of money, but for the things I really need it wouldn't even touch that. So I did what ever red blooded American, self serving person would do. Bought something for myself, well I try and tell myself that it is for the house (since I don't own a PS2), but thats really a cop out.
So you ask what did I buy myself, well I guess you can read the banner and figure that little mystery out. Yes I broke down and got Guitar Hero II with two wireless guitars. I rolled home and called out to friends to share in my wealth but none of them could hear the calling of the rock gods with in them. I hastily took out the guitar and loaded up the game. Three hours later, with wrist in almost cramped paralysis my roommate came to find me staring at the TV.
I had just attempted my first medium song and boy did I suck. THREE buttons made it ok, but adding a fourth kick my ass. I don't want to even think of using a fourth.
So I put the guitar to rest. Only to think about my next few days off and how far and how much closer I can come to being my own private rock god.
I was highly reluctant to even go to the new movie. I know every new Bond is a chance to get it right. Dalton was ok, Moore I was never impressed about, Lazenby was in the best (but not the best), Brosnan was a joke, and COnnery was king (until now).
Daniel Criag brought out a whole new Bond. One that I might add had dimensions that now other actor or director has tried to reach. Lazenby had his chance with the best written of the Bond films, but fell short.
What can I say about this film. GO SEE IT! By far the best Bond flick for many years. What encourages me to make this statement? First that lack on non-stop action was the best. While I am a junkie for the fights and the car driving, I found the story was able to really replace the need for that and did it in trumps.
The acting was good, strong preformances from most fo the cats made this a movie that was exciting and plot driven. Unlike some of the past Bond movies where the action drives the plot into the grave.
My only flaw with the movie was use of Texas Hold'em over Baccarat. This was the Bond game. It is also a game of man vs man, while Hold'em is a watered down common game. Baccarat was the princes way of playing the game and looking good while doing it. This is a trivial thing and I was able to overlook it with the stunning back grounds, good plot line and strong character acting.
Go See this movie!
